Overview
About Me
I really enjoy working with people to see their event come to life. I love learning about new places and cultures. Seeing Europe has made me realize I want to explore my own hometown more. I really enjoy languages and I'm pretty fluent in Spanish. I get a kick out of the most random things that most people wouldn't notice. Beautiful architecture never ceases to amaze me, but I've forgotten more terms than many people probably learned so please don't ask me for too much of a description. Hopefully one day soon I can brush up on that...like before the end of this trip. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It provides an opportunity to meet people and learn about culture more in depth than you would normaily be able to. My sister has a profile and we've already met some really neat people. Plus, travel can be really expensive so I think it's a great exchange and makes it more affordable.
Interests
I love singing, dancing (typically ballroom), and doing artsy things (although I have limited time to actually create). I have come to realize I really enjoy window shopping...I'm pretty good at not actually buying a whole lot. It's just that walking downtown in a city and poking your nose into all the cute shops helps you get an idea of the flavor of a city.

Music, Movies, and Books
Oy....let's see
Favorite music comes from the '60s mainly. The Rat Pack and Crooners: Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, etc. I like music with gorgeous instrumentals and clear lyrics.
Favorite movies: Pride and Prejudice (or *most* movies based in the Regency era), the Avengers, the Christmas Card (it's a Christmas tradition to watch it), A Walk to Remember, Lord of the Rings (but I can't stand to watch the really intense bits), White Christmas, Follow Me Boys, Call Me Madam, North and South.
I like historical fiction. Dickens is heavy, but really good. Jane Austin. Explicit Gospel, most of Baroness Orzy's works such as the Scarlet Pimpernell, Beth Moore's books (although I am still working my way through them), Ann Voscamp's 1000 Gifts.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Right now I'm in the middle of a 6 month trip throughout Europe with my sister. It's pretty intense. We've seen a lot of really neat places (the Hermitage in St. Petersburg), made some great friends, and just been completely amazed by things that happen on the trip.
I've also been in two continents at the same time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm good at English so for people traveling to the US who want to improve it, I can help. I can also help with beginner-lower intermediate Spanish and would enjoy the chance to continue improving my own Spanish. Very soon, I should be a pro at packing and can give do and don't tips. I truly enjoy learning about other cultures and sharing my own (my professional curiosity is always intrigued regarding weddings). I can also do some cooking. Once I get back home, I'm planning to explore my own state and city more and would really enjoy doing that with other CouchSurfers!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think most of the above would apply here. Sometimes, I bring food on the road and always try to share when I can. I can share lots of good conversation, travel war stories, laughter, and some recipes.
