I love riding my bike, hanging out in my city (Portland, Oregon), going on adventures with my partner and my trusty dog, eating good food, and drinking strong coffee and beer. I love experiencing new places by bike, foot, or public transportation. I can sit in a cafe for hours and never tire of people watching. When I visit a city it's important that I get the most authentic experience possible and that's why staying with locals is so important to me.

I feel like I'm on vacation in my home city every single day! Portland has so much to offer and I love showing travelers why I love this city so much. Visitors will always have access to bikes -- my favorite way to experience Portland! When traveling to other cities I enjoy having someone available to help me better understand what it means to be a member of that given community. I want to eat like the locals, drink like the locals, and basically live like the locals!

My parter and I have hosted several couch surfers (on his account) and were lucky enough to stay with multiple couchsurfing hosts that were all amazing when we traveled through the Netherlands. I think that couchsurfing allows you to truly experience a city and its people.

I went temporarily deaf at a giant new year celebration in Utrect, Netherlands after a very excited Dutch person flew a bottle rocket right past my face. The Dutch know how to do fireworks!
