About Me

I'm too curious for my own good! It keeps getting me into trouble - endless education, madly itchy feet. I love to visit new places, meet new people, and learn new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's definitely more fun to meet locals when you're traveling!

Music! (I sing in four choirs and play a few instruments, folk-music style)

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite authors: Robin McKinley, Nick Lane, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman
Favorite films: Master and Commander, 19th c. British romantic dramedies (e.g. Pride and Prejudice, North and South, etc), Lord of the Rings (esp Two Towers), Die Hard, anything made by Hayo Miyazaki, Frozen (yuuuuup, it's true)
TV Shows: Firefly, Adventure Time

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a group of buskers one day, got to talking with them, and when they found out I play harp, they invited me to join them for a gig later that evening. So I played a tiny concert with these incredible people (Pedalfolk) completely on the fly!

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning is my favorite activity, and I love talking to people about something they're very interested in. I also love to teach people about anything I'm familiar with. I'm comfortable teaching people about linguistics (if you're curious!) and chemistry/biology, as well as a host of random things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook good food, and I enjoy doing it! It's not gourmet or anything, but it's good. I'm also usually pretty good for conversation, but I'm tragically monolingual.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, United Kingdom, United States
