Hiya pals! I'm Kate, yet another New Zealander who has left that lush paradise in search of travel adventures in exciting and diverse Europe. I have been living in London for the past year and a half, and now as my time in the UK has finished I have to follow my nose, and get out and travel solo before being back for New Zealand summer.

I really love experiencing new and unusual places, but I have never understood the idea of having 'done' a location, never to visit again - "oh yeah we've done Turkey, lets go somewhere new'' - travels can be even better when you go back and enrich your experience, meet old pals and new.

When I'm not working or travelling I love to see as much theatre and live music as I can. London has been great for theatre, as has my yearly trip to the Edinburgh Fringe festival. In 2015 I got a job working for one of the big 4 venues at the Fringe, which was incredible. A bucket list goal is to go back in the future as a performer with my theatre company from back home.

I speak very basic German from a brief school exchange I did many years ago. I am keen to practice, but a bit shy about my skills, so maybe we should have a wine for bravery first if you want to try?

Seeing new places is so much more rewarding when you get the local perspective and make new pals. I'm trying to hit 30 countries by the end of my 30th year, so local insight and meeting fellow travelers I hope will be a big part of this!

I moved to the other side of the world, all by myself - twice! Once when I was 16 for a 4 month exchange, and again in 2015.
