Overview
About Me
I'm Kate. I grew up in beautiful New Zealand and I've been working there in Graphic Design for a few of years. I spent a couple of years working at Te Papa, our national museum as a designer, and loved it. Museums are full of the craziest stories. I'm leaving my work in New Zealand to travel for as long as I can to meet new people and learn about different cultures.
I love food and wine, and will be sampling as many tasty things as I possibly can from around the world. I like to balance the eating and drinking with a little running and hiking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've travelled like a tourist before and it left me feeling unsatisfied. Hotels are soulless and tourist attractions loose their charm with a thousand other tourists around. I would come home exhausted and broke, feeling bad about the environmental impact I had. I'm not travelling like that anymore. I'm after a richer experience, where I travel slower, meet locals and see the world from their perspective for a moment.
