About Me

I am 23, a Literature graduate, living and working in BRISTOL, for a sustainable festival (dungarees in the office only pls!)

I love getting a feel of the everyday rhythms of a city, going places and experiencing it through people. What better way to really connect with concrete slabs and strange places, than by getting an insight into how the people that live there experience it! Tell me your favourite spots, cute or embarrassing stories about places, places where you had an amazing thought, where something significant clicked for you!

I also want to get a bit more experience in visiting non-cities, traversing landscapes wild not urban. I grew up doing this in the UK, but have always ended up in cities when in Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The feet have started itching again. After a bit of travelling about during my year abroad in Utrecht, NL, I've been having a wonderful time settling into Bristol. Now it's time to see some more beautiful places - this time, where I am close enough to get some earth between my toes and have a view knock me over.

Had a few cracking experiences with couchsurfing before - that whetted my whistle.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music; I did my degree thesis on Bjork - so first and foremost her. Also, but not limited to:
Joanna Newsom, Micachu, Theolonius Monk, Gil Scot-Heron, Fever Ray, Dirty Projectors, Francis Bebey, Arthur Russell, Shabazz Palaces, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, (I could go on for quite a while, so I'm going to stop here with my most recently played!)

Movies; Often out with the old and in with the new- my favourite films are always the ones I saw most recently! I have loved "The Wound," Weisman's "Ex Libris" (a 4 hr fly-on-the-wall about NYC public libraries - not as dry as it sounds!), and "Black Panther"

Books; A hot mix - currently reading Donna Haraway's "Tales for Earthly Survival," George Monbiot's "Feral," and a lot of Ursula Le Guin's awesome spectulative feminist anarcho sci-fi!!!
I love a good Rushdie, Arunduti Roy and Paul Beatty.

but basically lots lots lots

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Waking up for a swim in the Atlantic sea at sunrise, with Snowdonia in the background, was a particularly nice one!
