About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've just moved from the States to Madrid to teach, improve my Spanish, and explore this great city. I would love to do a language exchange-- your Spanish for my English. I think it's a great way to meet people and learn from them.

ABOUT ME

I'm an English teacher living abroad for a few years while I figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. I studied Spanish literature in college, and I write fiction.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I recently graduated from undergrad and am planning to travel for a while. I don't know where I eventually want to settle down, and I'd like to explore and live in a bunch of different countries and cities while I do various jobs and projects.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have used Couchsurfing to find hosts, and this is the way I like to travel. I have offered my couch to many people, as well as crashed on people's floors while I was traveling. I've surfed couches in Portland, Seattle, various towns in Washington and Oregon, NYC, Paris, Amiens, Brussels, and many other places. I love getting to know people when I'm in a new place. Traveling can be lonely if you let it.

Interests

I play Ultimate Frisbee.
I run.
I write fiction and read poetry.
I love to cook and bake.
I love coffee.

"The Faraway Nearby" essays by Rebecca Solnit
"A Personal Matter" novel by Kenzaburo Oe
"The Glass Bead Game" novel by Hermann Hesse
"Yerma" play by Federico García Lorca
"A Room of One's Own" essay by Virginia Woolf

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak English fluently, Spanish decently, and French to a lesser extent. I am always interested in language exchanges in either Spanish of French. If you want to get a coffee or a beer and chat, send me a message.
