ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town in England, and went to University in Leeds but left the country in 2009 to come and live in Paris, France. Originally I was only intending to come for a year, but as no other plans evolved, I am staying for another year. I work as an aupair, looking after three kids, and although they can be little terrors at times, I really enjoy living and working here. My life has currently picked up the pace a bit, after a year of not very much happening, and I am really enjoying it!

I'm a very happy person, but with a sarcastic side that makes the happy bearable! I enjoy getting up and doing things and lazing around alternately. I wouldn't say I necessarily embrace life to the full, but I am trying to change that. I would definitely describe myself as more than a little bit dorky. I am slowly but surely developing a girly side. I find it very hard to embarrass myself, which usually results in me doing stupid, but hilarious, things.

I enjoy watching movies, learning new languages and improving the ones I can speak, reading anything and everything, eating, hanging out with my friends, travelling, photography, walking, train travel, airports and generally anything associated with planes, writing letters, stickers, shopping, making people spell things correctly, comedy - honestly, anything associated with that, sightseeing and generally making a complete fool of myself. :)

Books: Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice, anything by Nick Hornby, anything by Terry Pratchett, Birdsong, Calvin and Hobbes, I Capture the Castle, anything by Sarah Dessen, My Family and Other Animals, anything by Bill Bryson, Asterix, Calling Cassie Crazy.

Movies: My Family and Other Animals, Little Miss Sunshine, Elizabethtown, He's Just Not That Into You, Pride and Prejudice, Shrek.

I went to Peru and trekked up to Machu Picchu last summer. It was incredible. Also living in Paris has been amazing.

I am a mine of many, many useless facts about various subjects, and I know lots of things about languages in general. I know how to get around Paris and where things are - I seem to have memorised the transport system by accident.

To be honest, what couldn't I learn? I don't think I've ever met someone I haven't learnt something from. I would definitely like to learn more Spanish. And how to play the guitar better.
