To speak more languages! But before that, I'm trying to finish my PhD in History.

ABOUT ME

I'm a historian and a swing dancer (What is that, you ask? Think swinging jazz music from the 1920s-1940s.)

I live between Melbourne and Berlin. I travel a lot for my research and for conferences.

I like to engage with the world around me and learn as much about people as I can. I also love to laugh. I like dry-witted humour, art, 80s music and occasionally even seeing block-buster films. I like finding obscure queer clubs in foreign cities. I like to dress up. I also like camping, eating baklava, and riding my bike. And love watching little kids play in the snow in winter.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to offer accommodation to others (when I can), receive accommodation in return, and publicise the network to others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My preferred mode of travel is couch surfing. I love meeting people and seeing their lives and finding out different ways of living (eg renting, squatting, owning, etc).

Interests

History, history, history (only so we can understand the present and change the future!).

I dance a lot. I'm even a member of a lindy hop performance troupe.

favourite music at the moment: antony and the johnsons, mum, fourtet, arcade fire, sufjan stevens, architecture in helsinki, 1930s jazz and blues, mozart's marriage of figaro and the magic flute, the eurythmics (i think annie lennox was WAY before her time!).
