I am a graduate student in TESOL hoping to teach ESL to adult ELLs in Japan. I have been studying Japanese for 4 years and have been involved in cultural exchanges with Japanese students at my university for 6 semesters. I studied abroad in Japan for 3 weeks and will be completing my graduate internship there this summer!

As I stated in my about mr, I have been involved in Japanese language and culture for approximately 4 years now. My Japanese sensei inspired me to become an ESL instructor after having me get involved in Japanese exchanges and study and encouraging me to go for my MA. I recently became addicted to K-pop and I'd like to learn more about Korean culture, so I will be taking a 2-week summer culture immersion program at a university near Seoul after my internship in Japan.

I love romcoms, but I'll watch almost anything. My favorite actor is Robert Downey Jr (aka Iron Man).

I don't read as much as I used to, but I am a book worm at heart.

Like I said, I recently got into K-pop. I really love BTS (my bias is Jiminie), but I also like BTOB, Block B, and some songs from other groups. I have always been really into alt-rock. One of my favorite artists is Panic! at the Disco. Brendon Urie. 😍 I also love Ed Sheeran, A Day to Remember, the Jonas Brothers (I see you judging), One Ok Rock, Pierce the Veil, and Melanie Martinez, among others. I've seen Jonas Brothers, Ed Sheeran, and Brendon Urie live in concert...my next mission is BTS.🙃

I visited the Roman Colosseum in 2013, which was absolutely spectacular. I also was able to witness a balloon release of a wedding in Japan from Fukuoka Tower, which was beautiful.

I'd love to practice teaching ESL to anyone I meet during my travels abroad. I love learning about new cultures and languages and in exchange I love sharing my own knowledge about eastern US culture and English.
