I'm a 24 year old graduate from University of California Santa Cruz with a degree in psychology. I was born and raised in Fresno, California; the largest city in the central valley and THE #1 farming county in the US!

My boyfriend and I will be traveling around Europe starting early September. We're both SO excited to experience this wonderful adventure and are looking for inexpensive ways to enhance our experience. Couchsurfing seems like a great resource to meet wonderful people, discover the awesome places in a country we wouldn't normally find on our own, and get a better understanding of the cultures we'll be around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My closest friends who have traveled through Europe have suggested checking out couchsurfting. They've said that it has worked out really well for them in the past and is a useful resource. I'd also like to give back sometimes by offering my couch to travelers exploring the California area. It seems like a great way to make new connections, learn about different cultures, and have fun.

Books : Fahrenheit 451, Atonement, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Fault in Our Stars, Water for Elephants, The Book Thief, Brave New World, The Shadow of the Wind, Tuck Everlasting, The Hunger Games, the Harry Potter series, A Song of Ice and Fire series
... I just love reading in general honestly.

Movies: I also love movies.... LOTS of movies. From Disney classics to Star Wars to romantic comedies, etc. One of my all time favorites is probably Meet Joe Black. Most people find it slow but I think it's great and it's filled with so many awesome quotes.

Music : I really enjoy psybient music like Emancipator or Carbon Based Lifeforms. I also love music with a folky feel like Mumfort and Sons or Of Monsters and Men. I'm fine with anything catchy that I can sing along with too (badly by the way. I can't really sing.) I guess I have a wide variety of interestes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in high school my family and I took an amazing trip to the south of France. We stayed in Aix en Provence for about a month. On one of the days, we decided to travel over to Nice and ended up on this small, rocky beach. I remember being amazed by how crystal clear the Mediterranean was. There was a huge cliff encircling the beach and my brother and I decided to jump from it into the water. We swam around the side, climbed up the cliff, and looked over and the daunting drop. My brother went first and took a long time to work up enough nerve to jump. When it was my turn, I decided I wouldn't psych myself out. I walked to the edge, felt the fear, and jumped anyway. It was exhilarating and I feel like it was an amazing adventure to be proud of.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some knowledge about the art scene around Fresno. We have some great museums and local art exhibits that host great events every month. There's also some awesome film festivals that take place in our Tower Theater. I'd be happy to help anyone learn a little more English as long as they're patient with my translating. I'd also love to learn about other cultures and languages.
