Hey there!

I'm Katelynn. I currently work at a desk all day everyday 8-5 and I don't hate it, but I'd rather be off traveling the world. I'm inspired by others who have committed their time and money to traveling and I love to hear other's stories.
Although I haven't been a lot of places (yet), I've had some amazing experiences, some pretty funny mishaps, and have great stories to share with others too.
I feed off energies so I truly love being around people who are genuine in their excitement and overall happy about their lives.
I am easy to get along with and pretty much down for anything when I'm visiting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There are so many reasons I joined Couchsurfing, but here are a couple in a short, bulleted list:

* There are some places I'd like to visit where I do not speak the main language and finding people who do speak my language may be tough. In this situation, I'd love to meet a local who would be happy to show me around their city, translate some food menus for me, and teach me about their home.

* I love hearing people's stories. Tell me about what makes you genuinely happy in life. What brings you peace? What excites you? What are you proud of accomplishing. I've found that meeting people who have overcome obstacles and are proud of who they are, or are becoming, truly motivates me to find the good in life each day.

* Honestly, sometimes when traveling long term, I just need a place to crash. There have been times when I get into a city really late (or not) and struggle to find accommodation for whatever reason and having Couchsurfing as another venue to just find a place to sleep is super valuable. Not only that, but as many of you know, when traveling long-term (which I haven't really been able to do thus far, but plan to), paying for accommodation every single night can add up fairly quickly and couchsurfers are people who understand that plight.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am terrible at choosing favorites, but here are a few I enjoy in each category:

Music: R&B, Rap, Today's Hits, and classical music (piano especially)...

Movies: Sports movies (Remember the Titans, Coach Carter, Moneyball, etc.), Romantic Comedies (500 days of summer, When Harry Met Sally), Comedies (Elf, Trainwreck, Bridesmaids, etc.)...

Books: The Hunger Games series, Water for Elephants, The Opposite of Love, Into the Wild...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't let life bring me down no matter how many obstacles I've had to face. That's pretty amazing to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have recently started using Duolingo to learn Spanish, but would love some practice! I'm in the ' I know a lot of vocabulary but cannot form complete sentences' stage of my learning.
