About Me

I’m a specialist trauma-informed teacher who just resigned from my job to chase a new adventure on the other side of the planet.

I’m really passionate about fitness and always up for an adventure and challenges. I will always say yes to an adventure. I can always be found hiking or bushwalking, I've tried to hike every possible mountain I can in Aus (usually accidentally the steepest ones), I've camped under the southern sky more times than I can count, I've spent every school holidays out in my 4WD, or tearing through the Aussie bush on my dirtbike (I've had my fair share of epic stacks), racing my motorbike through winding roads, hiking something, running somewhere, gymming, swimming, racing to the coast to leap in the ocean; if it gets me moving, I'll do it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the ethos of Couchsurfing — the generosity, the shared meals, the trust that people can still open their doors to one another in this day and age. It reminds me that we can feel safe with strangers, that connection matters more than transactions.

Despite having a bank account, I don’t want to buy my way into being alone — I want to build connections, hear stories, and be reminded that there’s another side to the world. Couchsurfing sparks that hunger to chase my dreams and move through the world in a more positive way. It lets me meet people who bring joy, inspire change, and remind me that not everything has to be about capitalism.

Interests

I’m fundamentally an active, energetic person — but I also really value my quiet moments. I love the peace I find in nature; being out in the world, surrounded by trees, ocean, or open sky, makes me happiest. The beach feels like home to me, I grew up at the beach and it will always have my heart.

I’m passionate about motorbikes (road bikes, dirtbikes — I’m actually obsessed), 4WDing, hiking, bushwalking, cycling, and pretty much anything that gets me moving. I’ll always say yes to an adventure

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I created the first strontium isoscape of Eastern Australia using kangaroo teeth as part of a geochemical research project

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach:
A bit about trauma-informed education and working with young people
How to get started with strength training or fitness
Motorbike tips (or how to stay upright on a dirtbike — mostly 😅)
How to have a great time cooking in the kitchen

I’d love to learn:
Where the best hiking, trekking, bushwalking, riding, adventure places are
Best little hidden spots
New outdoor skills (surfing, climbing, you name it)

I can share:
Good food and hilarious stories from my teaching career
Stories from my travels around Australia.
My positive energy and enthusiasm for most things

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’ll share whatever I can, my food, knowledge, time, energy, and space. I really value people’s privacy and their need for peace and solitude, and I try to meet people where they’re at. I’ll always bring integrity, respect, and care for how people feel and what they want from the experience.

I’ve always tried to make my space feel like a home for others, somewhere they can truly relax and feel safe. That’s what I’d like to offer as a guest too: to bring that sense of comfort and ease wherever I go.

I’m always up for lending a hand, I’ve helped people with house moves, renovations, cleaning, whatever’s needed. Even the washing or tidying is more fun when you’re not doing it alone. I’m happy to help out, share supplies, cook a meal, swap stories, or just bring good energy and company if that’s what’s welcome.
