My idea of travelling around the world has been shaped by 19th/20th century explorers, writers and anthropologists such as John Lloyd Stevens & Frederick Catherwood ("discoverers" of the Maya Pyramids in 1841), Claude-Lévi Strauss, Alexandra David-Néel and many others.

The ingredients of my ideal voyage are: discovery, facing challenging situations, cultural shock and cultural immersion, meeting and talking to as many locals (but also other travellers) as possible.

As a guest: to try a different way of travelling: discovering a country not through a guide book from a hotel window, but through the eyes of the natives from the heart of their home!

As a host: to return the favour, and to meet travellers from all four corners of the world with their own story to tell.
