I'm a perpetual student and traveller from Australia. Was living in China for the last 2-3 years doing research on domestic violence legislation, and later working on Chinese tennis development - two very different gigs, I know.

Now I have quit my job to go on an open-ended adventure in Asia and Europe maybe your city too.

There is nothing better than jumping into the water (whether it's a lake, ocean or pool, river) after a hot day of exploring.

Have couchsurfed a bit with my boyfriend and have had only incredible experiences, so decided it was time to have my own profile. More generally have met some pretty awesome people through couch surfing that either friends or housemates have hosted. I love travelling and meeting other travellers.

Interesting chats, hiking, tea, AFL, tennis, travel, bookclubs, politics, turning up David Bowie really loud and dancing away, most importantly anything and everything to do with gender and feminism.

Books: This trip I've been making a lot of time to churn through some books that have been in my to read list for far too long: Gloria Steinem's 'Life on the Road' is an absolute favourite and has informed lots of my thinking about travel and feminism of late. Otherwise love a good escapist series like Game of Thrones, or a page turner like anything by Donna Tartt.

Movies: The Rage in Placid Lake and An Education, also love a good BBC mini-series. Rubbish tv-shows are my secret pleasure.

I love talking about adventures and travels - have spent a bunch of time on the road in the last seven years and love getting and giving recommendations, but more importantly the crazy stories that are part and parcel with those trips. I especially love hearing about cool innovative ways of travelling - whether it's a long bike trips, vanning around, hitch-hiking etc.

I love sharing stories about China, Chinese politics, speaking in Chinese. If you have lived/travelled there we have lots to discuss! Also recently spent three months in India (mostly in the North-East regions) and adored it (despite some quality loose motion times). I feel as if I'm already planning my next adventure there even though we just left. If you have india tips and tales I'd love to chat about them.
