Hello couchsurfers! My name's Kate, I'm 25. I'm married and I have 1 year old dauthter. Happy wife and mom and passionate traveller. I was born and grew in Donetsk (Ukraine). My travelling story starts in my youth, where being a teenager I went to the US to work with american kids in a summer camp. It was so much fun and challenge, but also a great experience and language practice. Back in Ukraine I realized that more than anything else I craved for travelling. All the money earned I saved for visiting a new country. After getting married, my husband became my travel companion. To travel more we had to cut costs on plane tickets, food, accomodation. We booked the cheapest flights, the cheapest random hostels and enjoyed ourselves during our trips. It proves that you don't have to be rich to discover the world. We met lots of people who shared our opinion. And one of these people told us about coachsurfing. And only now after 5 years we decided to try. The war in Donbass (my hometown), beginning in March 2014 changed our lives forever. . We lost our jobs and home and had to start everything from the beginnig in a new city. The whole world empathizes with Ukraine now and it's global crisis. And we hope for the best. The average salary of Ukrainians is less than 200$ per month. Crazy isn't it? It's enough to pay for food and apartment only... Travelling is getting harder(( I don't complain. it's just the tough period in my country. But we still love travelling. We look for emotions, new places, new people, we will also be happy to share our experience.
