Hi, everyone!

My name is Kateryna. At the age of 19, I decided that I wanted to make my dream come true. I wanted to visit all the capitals of Europe – not just to go on a couple of excursions, but discover the inner side of the cities, get acquainted with the culture and, of course, wander the streets as the locals do, so on the eve of 20 I registered on this site and planned my first trip to one of the European capitals.

🤪I like high-quality humor and communication with new people. It’s far more difficult for me to joke in English, than I do it in Russian or Ukrainian, but I always try to, because I can’t live without it.

🙋‍♀️Speaking about communication with other people, when I was younger I was very shy and felt really uncomfortable with strangers, but after school I entered the Institute of Journalism and cardinally changed my attitude to society.

🤺Most of my life I devoted to fencing, and now I work as a sports journalist. I love sports and everything connected with them. By the way, earlier I also practiced horse riding, swimming and tennis.

📷One of my hobbies is photography. I'm just learning to take photos and work with photo editors, but I get a lot of pleasure from it.

🎼I love music very much. When I was 14, I graduated from music school. I learned academic vocal. Actually, I don’t like to sing in public, but it doesn’t appeal to Ed Sheeran's and Ukrainian songs.

✌️I'm always glad to new acquaintances, interesting people and adventures, so I hope you won’t find me boring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to go beyond the borders. It doesn’t matter what these borders are. It can be the borders of my country or the borders in my mind – about culture, about people, about traditions ets. Couchsurfing helps to break them, explore new things and find friends around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

🎧I prefer listening to pop or rock music. My favourite bands are 30STM, One Republic, The Killers, Hurts etc. I graduated from Music School – I used to be a singer. That’s why I listen to music all the time and love different types of it.

🎞I don’t have favourite movies or books, because there is always something new and it’s too difficult to choose one. But I love James Cameron and his movie “Sanctum”.

I hope I'm a good daughter, not bad sports journalist and interesting companion. So far, from my achievements I can name these:

Teach, Learn, Share

⚽️I know a lot about different types of sports and physical exercises. It is obvious. But at the same time, I don’t like football. Sorry, guys.

🇺🇦I always glad to talk about Ukraine, life in the capital, the history of my country, our culture and sights.

🗽I really like meeting other people and exchanging some skills and information with them. In my opinion, it is very valuable in the twenty-first century.
