CURRENT MISSION

Travel around Asia while I'm living here, learn German (coz all my best friends are from German-speaking countries - might as well!) and make as many new friends as I can!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in the USA and had to move to the Philippines when I was a bit older. I lived in Manila for over a decade and moved to Singapore recently for work.

I'm a full-time teacher, but I try to get out and travel whenever I have free time. I'm one of those sad people who flies to Phuket to stay for three days, and spends the last day annoyed that they have to go back to work!

PHILOSOPHY

For a long time I sat around waiting for something to make my life exciting. Then I read a book - Looking for Alaska, admittedly not one of the greatest books for inspiration, but it got to me nonetheless - that talked about seeking a Great Perhaps. I realized that I couldn't sit around and expect a great adventure to knock on my door. That only happens to Bilbo Baggins.

So... I quit my job, packed my bags, and moved to Singapore for a change. I got a job with lots of time off, and planned trips for even the shortest breaks. Travelling on my own has changed my way of thinking dramatically and has made me a happier person.

And so my philosophy is to leap out of my comfort zone and look for a great adventure. It's worked so far!

Interests

I love photography, and I study it constantly! I am an avid reader of the science fiction and fantasy genres, or any book that can really get me to look at life in a different way. I try to play sports, and I'm terrible at most but I've proven to be pretty decent at football (soccer to some).
