Hi there!
My name is Katharina (or Kat/Kati) and I am 23 years old. Currently I am studying Special Education and English in Berlin. Since I love traveling, I am getting super excited about new places, cultures, people, food etc. I was fortunate enough to be able to live in Australia for a while and fell in love with the county and the people there.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because I believe every person you meet broadens your horizon and it is so rewarding to learn about new cultures and life perspectives which differ from our own. I had really really good experiences with couch surfing so far. I was couch surfing in Australia as well as in the USA, New Zealand, France and Italy and it was amazing! We met so many lovely people and got really different and interesting impressions of the places we visited, it was so nice to see things from a "local perspective" and to get to know different people from around the world!

traveling and exploring new beautiful places, reading, watching movies and talk about them in detail with friends later, listening to all sorts of music, acting, eating, learning new things, meeting new people, strolling through Berlin parks on a sunny Sunday, going to the beach in summer, winter, fall or spring, going to flea markets, watching the sunset on rooftops & drinking beer.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Growing up in Germany gave me the opportunity to travel a lot of countries in Europe. After high school I spent 9 moths in Australia- for 6 months I was living in Perth working as an Au pair. That means, that I was living with a wonderful host family, looking after their kids and helping around the house. I see them as my second family now, and I miss them every day! One month, we were traveling Asia and saw several countries there. After my time in Perth, I was traveling Australia for three months and saw the Outback, was camping in the national parks near Darwin, and I was working in Melbourne and Sydney.
These 9 months probably have been the most amazing ones in my life to far and totally changed the way I look at the world and addicted me to traveling.

I am not gonna lie- I am not a fantastic cook buuuut I would be able to cook a german dish. Also, we would be more than happy to share travel stories and experiences. And if you are (for some weird reason) interested in learning German, I am exited to practice my teaching skills haha.
