My name is Katherine but I go by Kat. I have lived in a few different places and am currently back to where I was born in Chattanooga, TN. Something that I feel I cannot live without is traveling. I take any opportunity to experience new things, places, foods, and to meet new people. I get along with people well and love hearing their stories and really getting to know them! I'm weird and carefree. I love laughing and being silly with friends, family, and even strangers! Which is how I seem to meet the most interesting and fun people. I like having things planned out some of the time but also love a good spontaneous adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My sister told me about Couchsurfing and how great it was. So I decided I had to try it! Meeting new people and making life long friends is something very important to me. And from what I have read and heard this seems like a great way to meet and get to know people from all over with different interests, views, and cultures. I want to continue learning new things.

And because I currently live with someone I can't host. This saddens me, but eventually when I get my new place I will quite enjoy hosting people! It's exciting having people come into your city for the first time. I'm very proud of my city! Good old Chattanooga, TN. In fact, it just so happens to be the number one outdoor city in the United States. So hopefully soon I can change my status on taking people into my home.

Interests

Exploring new places, fashion, art, enjoying excellent food from different cultures. I design and sew some of my own clothes and costumes. Going out with my friends in grabbing a drink at my local watering holes. Hiking to real watering holes and then taking a nice long refreshing swim.🌊☀️ I love animals of all shapes and sizes and always enjoy their company! One of the highlights of my year is going to shows, concerts, and music festivals. I go for the music, the atmosphere, and the fact that it's one of the best places to meet new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of music from classical to hard rock to electronic. (Just preferably not country) 😊 and as for movies my favorites are Moulin Rouge, Memoirs of a Geisha, Pride and Prejudice, and both the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter series'!!! (I wouldn't mind visiting a place like Rivendell) As for books I love... I have to add Harry Potter series in there again! I also love Pride and Prejudice, The Narnia series, and of course The Hobbit!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Ukraine for two years when I was younger and then in China for a year when I was 14. (That happens to also be one of the things I am most grateful for.)
