About Me
Hi! I'm Katie, a university student from the US doing a semester abroad in Toledo, Spain! In Toledo, I've been taking classes to learn more about the Spanish language and culture, and it's been a blast so far. My Spanish has really improved since I got here in January and my understanding of Spanish culture has gone up a lot! In 2014 I also studied abroad in Poitiers, France, where I took classes at a French high school.
I'm also currently a third-year student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where I'm studying to be a Speech Pathologist, along with getting minors in French, Spanish, and Teaching English as a Second Language.
Overall I love learning languages and traveling in general, which is why I'm so excited to get set up on Couchsurfing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My best friend Carly is coming to visit me at the end of the semester (beginning of May) and we're going to backpack around Europe until June! We're looking to travel, meet friends, and above all, soak in all of the culture of our host country as possible! We like the idea of Couchsurfing because we know we'll get to meet many people from all walks of life who share our interest in traveling, but can give us new perspectives on life and how it might be different from how we live in the US.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My favorite trip that I've done so far this semester was to the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. Growing up in Minnesota, I never really spent any time around the ocean, so seeing the Atlantic beneath such amazing cliffs was a breathtaking experience. The whole month leading up to the trip, the forecast told us that it was going to be rainy all weekend, but we were pleasantly surprised with sunny, warm weather, which added to the experience and really made the trip amazing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
