About Me

I am calm, open, chatty, a bit of a planner, and like to get stuck in to whatever activity I am doing at the time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend introduced me to couchsurfing on a trip we took together, and it was a great experience. I think it's a network of really easy-going and open people and I'd probably like to meet all of them! To be able to visit a place and meet up with or stay with a local person is so valuable.

I can host female couch surfers at the moment, but am working full time and doing a part-time PhD, so dates might take a bit of arranging!

I have stayed with a couchsurfer a few years ago and would like to again in the future. I am going to Peru and Bolivia soon so hopefully then.

Music, Movies, and Books

To be honest I have fallen out of the habit of listening to new music, and reading. I have to read a lot for work, and just put the radio on and listen to whatever they play! My pile of books to read is mounting, and I have started to plough through it...

My favourite film is Memento (Anthony Nolan)

I like Jonathan Franzen's books (his new one is in my pile of books 'to be read').

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We climbed Mount Mulanje in Malawi, and that was amazing having a hard day's climb, arriving at night, but then being above the clouds when we woke up!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a pretty good knowledge of London and have tried and tested a lot of the sites and museums, so think I'm quite a helpful host in that way. I can advise where is fun to go to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could teach a bit of cooking! I can cook a lot of things. I'd also love to be taught how to cook local food- wherever I go I try and get someone to teach me a local dish or cooking style. So far I have tried Thai, north-Indian, Malawian, Gambian and Italian.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Canada, Estonia, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Gambia, Germany, Iceland, India, Italy, Laos, Malawi, Mozambique, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom
