ABOUT ME

I like to do a lot of stuff. I fill most of my time with projects. My favorite project right now is working with the OSU Solar Vehicle Team, but I like doing projects around the house and garden, too. I am currently a Ph.D. student in chemical engineering at Oregon State University and I manage a solar cell research lab. I care a lot about the environmental future of the planet. I generally like people. I'm a huge fan of the LGBT community and I like doing social activism.

Summers of 2010, 2012, and 2013 our solar car team couch surfed across America and back and I really think it's time I gave back to the community. Thanks so much to our fantastic hosts!!! You were all so generous and so cool!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have traveled to solar car races twice in the last few years and couch surfed the whole way. Many very generous people took in a dozen or more college kids and made sure we made it safely and happily to our race and back. You guys are our heroes!

Interests

Engineering! I also like making things, like gardens or murals (though I really only paint Nintendo characters). I like having people over for small parties and I love meeting new people. I want to travel more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the Great Wall of China was pretty sweet. Running across the finish line with our solar-powered car was probably my favorite in recent history.
