We are traveling through Europe together for 3 weeks post graduation from Penn State!
I was born and raised in the south and ended up going to school at Penn State in Pennsylvania where I studied Psychology. I am moving on to graduate school in the fall at Columbia University to become a psychologist. I absolutely love the outdoors, traveling, puppies, and food. Luke and I have known each other since freshman year, and we decided there is no better time than now to travel through Europe. I am very outgoing, personable, and adventurous and I love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I can't wait to eat my way through Europe!
I have always been a huge sports fan and love to travel to new places. I have been to a few countries in Europe including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and am extremely excited to return. I was born in Erie, PA and have lived there all my life before going to Penn State for school. I love trying new and exotic foods, outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, and camping, and a good night out on the town. Katie and I have talked about backpacking through Europe for the longest time and decided to take the dive before both of us go about our post graduation plans.
There is so much to beauty in the world, and there are so many amazing places to go and fantastic people to meet. I want to take this time I have before moving on in my life and truly explore different countries, different people, and my inner self. Traveling is such a great way to learn more about the world and about oneself, and I look forward to the journey. I believe there are 3 things in like that shape who you are - the experiences you have, the people you meet, and the books you read.
I generally believe that if you treat those around you with the utmost respect and dignity, you will get that in return from those you interact with throughout life. Life is a long journey and you get to choose the experience you have along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Neither of us have ever backpacked through Europe, so we are very excited to have hosts who will show us the ropes of the city in which they live. We're staying in a city for only a few days and want to be sure we get the full experience from going to museums to going to the local pub to meet your friends. We also hope to host surfers in the future!
We have not formally had any experience through the CoachSurfing website, but we have stayed on many coaches before! While visiting friends in other cities, we have stayed in many places and had many new and exciting experiences this way.
I love having new experiences, interacting with people, going out, and having fun. I like to spend my time being active, doing things outdoors, reading, learning, and exploring.
I am interested in all kinds of sports, music, reading, going out, and trying new and different food. I really love going to new places and really immersing myself into the culture and way of life.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a variety of music - ranging from country to rap. I have been known to enjoy pop music, 90's bands, and some electronic stuff like Pretty Lights and Avici.
In terms of movies, I tend to be attracted to psychological thrillers and love stories. The Notebook will always be a favorite, as well as some great comedies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
One of my favorite books of all time is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. I also love James Patterson, Jodi Picoult, and every single one of the Harry Potter books!
I am quite the movie critic. I enjoy watching and delving into many different genres of movies. Some of my all time favorites are The Godfather, Star Wars, Field of Dreams, Gladiator, Pulp Fiction, and the Matrix. I love to read philosophical, political, and a variety of thriller books and novels. The last book I read was The Law of Nines by Terry Goodkind and I am in the middle of Moneyball as well as The Big Short by Michael Lewis. Music has always been a pivotal part of my life. I have been a huge fan of classic rock and early Jazz since I was very young. I have been to many concerts and live shows and am still checking my favorite artists off of my musical bucket list. I feel that the music that I spent so much time listening to has helped shaped my life and the person that I am today.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 15, I traveled to Costa Rica for a month and backpacked, hiked, kayaked, and explored the country. We climbed Mount Chirripo, kayaked in Gulfo Dulce, and spent a week sleeping in the rain forest. The following summer I spent a month in Panama on a remote island in the San Blas Archipelago with the Kuna Indians. We built a new community center and were immersed in their interesting culture. Despite the language barrier, I made amazing friends and had the experience of a lifetime. This trip really made me grow and mature as a person.
Teach, Learn, Share
We are both extremely open people who are excited to learn about the various cultures we visit and the people we meet. We love swapping stories with friends, both new and old and look forward to new experiences.
