About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To spend a year working in field of social work and exploring the beautiful Southwest.
ABOUT ME
I am a 22-year-old social worker with red hair. One of my favorite things to do is to grow vegetables and fruit. Growing things is amazing and awe-inspiring. I also enjoy running, biking and swimming; I am training (albeit slowly) for a triathlon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, I am searching for couches to spend the night on in the Southwest. I am also interested in participating in Couchsurfing meetups, coffee, and eventually, hosting surfers!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couch surfed during my year studying abroad in Murica, Spain. I couch surfed in London, Brussels, Florence, Venice, and Rome. It was an amazing experience and I met some wonderful and inspiring people!! I haven't forgotten a single night I spent on a Couchsurfing night, and it was absolutely delightful. I look forward to hosting Couchsurfers in the future.
Interests
I love learning! Learning about new friends, new places, vegetables, Spanish, and the world, etc. I am super interested in Harry Potter and enjoy reading the books in both Spanish and English, as well as watching the movies and pretending I am a wizard. Volunteer work is important to me because I am interested in giving back to the earth. I currently am interested in learning as much as possible about the southwest, hiking, camping, and exercising.

Music, Movies, and Books
Harry Potter!! All the books and movies. I love Pride and Prejudice by Jane Adams, as well as many books by Barbara Kingsolver and Ender's Game. My musical interests include: Regina Spektor, Sigur Ros, Jónsi, Explosions in the Sky, Ratatat, Andrew Bird, Langhorne Slim, and many more!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I have done in my lifetime is plan a demonstration against Shale Gas abuses in Arkansas, USA. I attend university there, and shale gas drilling (also called natural gas fracking) is a terrible and earth-exploiting process that is going on in many places in the US, and in Arkansas. It is a process that affects mainly poor and rural folks in the area both economically, by lowering the value of their property immensely, and physically, by poisoning the water so that the neighbors become extremely sick. I organized a state-wide demonstration against these abuses in front of one of the main companies that does this in Arkansas. It was a great success and an inspiring time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share knowledge about growing fruits and vegetables! And knowledge about the Spanish language, how to make crafts out of recycled goods, how to cook a delicious Pumpkin Pie, or Pecan Pie...or Apple Pie! I can teach about how to live a more eco-friendly manner, including how to clean "green."
