Overview
About Me
I am originally from Edmonton, lived in Vancouver for 12 years and am currently studying Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto - If you need info on Canada, I'm your girl!
I've had every job under the sun, from professional balloon animal maker, to waitress, to yoga teacher, to book buyer, and so many more! Currently I barely pay the bills by working as a resident advisor at my school, so I do not have a couch right now...
I am reasonably fit and healthy, I like to be active but I am terrible at team sports like soccer or basketball - let's go try climbing or surfing instead! I have no food restrictions except eggs and raw tomatoes (they are gross), so after we go somewhere fun I would like to try the best pizza in your neighbourhood!
I've made travel a big priority in my life, but someday I would like a garden and a dog and maybe a career to boot :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
On many of my travels I have found awesome hostels with friendly people to meet and explore the city with. Locals would be better!
Interests
I like to read, hike, and do yoga. I like to cook and am always willing to make a meal somewhere, or be taught a new technique! I have tried climbing a few times, and really look forward to getting back to the west coast where I can go outdoors (indoors is a bit pricey). I love animals, plants, and building things.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'll listen to just about any music, I'm not picky. I use songza as a background in my life, it's great, but I never know what I'm listening to haha. I like outdoor concerts in the summer when I can sit on the grass, but I'm not a big indoor concert person. I'm not a big indoor anything person, haha.
Movies - I like movies a lot. My favourite is probably The Castle, the australian one. Or Pitch Perfect. I don't know why, but I can watch them over and over. I also like good movies, and I like all genres.
I'm currently reading Wheel of Time and probably will be for the next year haha, it's a lot. One of the best books I've read in a while is Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. I also liked Bel Canto by Ann Pachett. And The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay was great too. Haruki Murakami is a bit weird for me so I stopped after a couple books, but I liked them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one?
One of my favorite things I've done is volunteer at an animal refuge in Ecuador for a month. It was the best. No power, so no phones or computers. We had gas for cooking and a single hot shower for 20ppl. We ate by candle light every night and spend the day putting our blood, sweat and tears into projects for some beautiful monkeys and some asshole birds. If I hadn't been accepted to med school, my plan B was to go back and be a long term volunteer for half a year. I met wonderful people, and felt so useful and alive.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn about plants, and gardening. Actually, I'd love to learn anything about nature and how we can work with it! I'd love to learn spanish! I'd love to become a better surfer. I'd love to work on my crochet skills, I"m great at scarves but crap at rounds.
There are so many things I don't know, I'm looking to learn whatever I can :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm learning about natural medicine, herb, essential oils, acupuncture, etc... but I'm not an expert yet! I am a decent cook, when luck is on my side. I can teach you how to make a balloon elephant!
