Hi! I’m Katya — an English teacher, travel enthusiast, and lover of good conversations. I’m originally from Russia, but now a Mexican resident, and always on the lookout for my next adventure.

I teach English online to adults from all over the world, which gives me the freedom to travel often — usually with my husband. When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me hiking up a mountain, exploring a new neighborhood on foot, or climbing out rock and plastic. I love nature, movement, and I’m always up for something fun — whether it’s a spontaneous road trip, a night out dancing, or just swapping stories over a beer.

I’m curious, respectful, easygoing, and I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and learning from different cultures. I travel light, cook simple meals, and try to bring good energy wherever I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet kind, open-minded people and experience new places in a more real and meaningful way. Hotels are fine, but they don’t tell you where to get the best coffee or what makes your city special.

Interests

I like climbing, active sports, hiking, dancing. I like random walking aroud the city. I like swimming. I like going to the theatres. I like clowning aroud. I like teaching my students!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spontaneously moved to Mexico with just a backpack, worked as a volunteer at an orphanage, climbed 4 five-thousanders, gave up PhD haha
