About Me

I am currently in my last year of studies getting my Masters in Special Education. I hope to teach internationally upon graduation learning and growing with my future students. I enjoy rock climbing, hiking and meeting new people. To describe myself I love to use the words extroverted, affable and talkative.

Feel free to ask me anything! I am an open book (:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to immerse myself in cultures other than my own. I know that people innately love to care for others and I know there are people out there who feel the same.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music wise I am quite a genre blender, I enjoy classic and psychedelic rock.

My favorite live performance was Dead and Company featuring members of the Grateful Dead and John Mayor. I also try to go to music festivals whenever my wallet allows it!

My favorite books are The Alchemist and Love Does.

My favorite movies are Interstellar and the Lion King. (It is a tie!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most recent travels brought me to Namibia, a South Western African continent where I lived and taught English and Computer literacy in the Village of Ondangwa.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am extremely passionate about how knowledge can mold someone’s life. Children have taught me more than I could ever teach myself and are my super heroes. This is because they radiate humanity’s best qualities such as courage, spontaneity, and open-mindedness. As an educator, we must get to know the unique characteristics of the individual in order to transfer knowledge that is engaging and that can be absorbed. However, it is not just the information and material that is valuable, it is the process of how we attain this knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love learning along with others so I love passing on lessons I have learned teaching abroad and from my host family in Namibia. I also collect vinyl records so if there is a genre of music you enjoy I would love to share one with you!
