I'm Katie! Originally from wine country in Northern California, I've been living in LA and San Diego for the last several years. I'm a doctor at UCLA, which is an adventure every day. This year, though, I am leaving my pager behind and taking a break from transplant medicine, working nights, and being on call, to do a solo around the world trip! I'm excited to explore outside my comfort zone, meet new people, see places I've never been, and just exist on this planet. My plan is to venture east from California, and keep going east until I run in to the West Coast again. Some of my most special experiences while traveling have been while friends or connections have opened their homes and shared their cities and lives with me - I hope to experience and contribute to the CS community in this way! In LA on my days off I hike in the Santa Monica or Malibu mountains or hang out on rooftops in Venice or WeHo - happy to share my LA gems with CS once I return in 2020!
