About Me
"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, and that is all" ~Oscar Wilde
That quote was hanging on the wall in my high school senior English class, and it's guided many of my life's decisions. Life is full of remarkable experiences and adventure and connection and community, but you must actively choose to embrace it, or else you may fall victim to mere existence.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
"The sooner you learn it's on you to make life interesting, the better off you'll be." ~Maria Semple from Where'd You Go, Bernadette?
Another quote- so aptly stated and partially the reason for joining the CS community....I've met so many incredible people in my travels, those who have opened their homes to me and shared meals and experiences. I meet the truest of kindred spirits when I'm out in the world, and what better way to keep the those connections buzzing than to pay it forward? Wish I'd signed up years ago!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love most music, and have a guitar, mandolin and keyboard available for guests to play if the moment strikes. I enjoy movies and books, but don't make enough time for either.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first giant stride off a boat into the ocean in Belize in 2007- while waiting at the surface to descend, looking down into the blue, and experiencing that breathtaking once-in-lifetime-first-moment where you're embarking on something magical and so much bigger than yourself....scuba was burned into my soul at that moment. And oh, the places it's taken me since....literally and figuratively...
