I grew up in Chicago and have studied and worked in various social justice efforts through projects of reformation and rehabilitation. Despite the overwhelming amount of work in this field in my home city and country, my constant need for movement & change and my fascination with new people, places, and experiences has brought me abroad (semi)permanently. I work teaching English, but I find most of my time is spent learning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

several years ago, some couchsurfers saved me from a travel mishap that left me stranded in the train station late at night with a broken phone...now I have moved to Germany and am living in the flat that took me in that night. The world is crazy and beautiful and oh so connected, and I think Couchsurfing is a great facilitator of these energies and experiences.

Motown, hip hop, R&B, folk, funk, but I can groove with pretty much anything.

A few of my favorite movies are One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Girl Interrupted, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and American Beauty.

I‘m currently reading a lot about the DDR; I also enjoy books by comedians.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm I met Michael Jordan when his son was playing against my brothers team in a 7th grade school basketball tournament........wasn’t that great tbh, he was not as nice as he is in space jam, which disappointed my 8 year old self. My grandma did sneak a pic of me with him though 🤷‍♀️
