About Me

I'm a bicycle-traveling, social media maven who loves community gardening, a good cup of tea and an afternoon spent with a perfectly poured stout and an excellent book. I've bicycle toured in 11 countries, worked in non-profits and help manage a bicycle cooperative and community garden in Cincinnati in my spare time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosting and being hosted is one of the most beautiful aspects of community building and traveling. I've been treated very well by online communities like Warm Showers and want to give back to the world of travelers who have taken such good care of me and my husband.

Interests

Bicycling, community development, media studies, social media as a reporting and community building tool, community gardening, reading, storytelling, Russian literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent my honeymoon bicycling through the Former Soviet Union. Two words: soviet statuary.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn how to drive a stick shift and build a car engine. I would also like to learn how to make a dosa. I fail every single time.

I can teach you how to tell a better story, how to climb a tree, how to fly a kite, basic color theory and how to make sour dough bread.

I share my books, food, drink, and a lot of ridiculous stories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm an excellent cook. Ever had jachnoon? Let's fix that! Are you gluten-free? No problem, let's talk polenta! I've been a long-time Warm Showers host and guest (Couch Surfing for bicycle tourists) and my husband and I always contribute a great meal (or six), leave your home cleaner than we found it, and love sharing great stories.

I can also help you with basic bicycle mechanics, menu planning, social media skills, editing and resume development.
