I'm laid-back, quick to laugh, decidedly un-fancy. Always up for a good time! I'm a reporter by training, so I ask lots of questions. I could pass hours in a bar collecting people's life stories.
I hate olives. Maybe I just haven't met the right one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was traveling Europe several summers ago, I stayed with a couchsurfer in Paris. She showed me her favorite restaurant and beer garden, shared her own experiences as an ex-pat journalist in France, and introduced me to her exuberant group of Italian friends who liked to drink wine from bottles and sing songs beside the Canal Saint-Martin. By moonlight, no less.

The real magic of an experience like that is the chance to peek in on someone else's life. My concept of "what is possible" expands.

Movies: anything old Hollywood
Music: classical to dubstep and everything in between
Books: Don DeLillo, Vladimir Nabokov, Joan Didion, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Virginia Woolf, Michael Pollan, the Aeneid, Ecclesiastes, etc, etc. I have this fetish where I have to own every book I've ever read. It makes moving quite the ordeal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Milked a cow. Attended a hypnosis convention. Played French horn for Cirque du Soleil.
