Hi! I'm Katie. When I'm not secretly knitting/checking facebook/filling out couchsurfing profiles at my work as an academic advisor, I'm trying my best to engage in the big, exciting city of San Francisco.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done a fair amount of hosting over the years but haven't had the ability for the past year or so. I'm currently in a group living situation that doesn't allow for guests, but hopefully by the end of the summer my man and I will be living on our own in a space to share with travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in Germany, Spain, Ghana, and Morocco. I've met up with CSers in Sweden and Singapore. Some of my favorite friends in California were found through this site. It's my favorite way to travel and I'm so grateful this community exists!

Interesses

I do hot yoga (come with me!), I knit and sew and just generally make as many things as possible. Current projects include a headboard for my bed out of tin ceiling tiles and a purple rug made from other not-yet-purple rugs. I don't cook. Like, at all. But I will take you to good restaurants. I also volunteer with the San Francisco Suicide Prevention hotline where I am honored to talk to really interesting people grappling with tough issues, attend as many concerts and lectures as my budget can sustain, and love bargains of all kinds (traveling on a budget? Talk to me about happy hour specials, free activities, and good sales).
