ABOUT ME

I am 35 and had been living in London up until about 8 moths ago... Life was good, nice flat, good job, great social life.. but something was missing!!! I had to wonder if this was all there was going to be to life and so i woke up one day and decided to give it all up and go traveling! So i saved up and then sold my car, rented my flat and gave up my job and hopped on a plane to Asia.. I haven't looked back and can honestly say i am having the time of my life.. best decision i ever made and i have never felt so free in my life..

PHILOSOPHY

Well i think i have changed a lot in the last 8 months since i started traveling as i used to think what i owned and how well i did at work defined me, but now i know that is not the case. i have taken away everything i thought was important and i feel great! My beliefs are closest to Buddhism... basically don't harm others, be kind and compassionate, you have all the answers within you and what goes around definately comes around.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am quite new to the Couch Surfing Project so i am afraid i haven't been able to contribute much as yet. I am travelling in South America and have met quite a few fellow couch surfers for coffees and drink and i would really love to meet more fellow couch surfers and be involved in this community i have heard so many wonderful things about it... i think it would be a great way to meet people and maybe make my trip to South America all by myself just a little less scary :-) . I would be very happy to be a host if i ever make it back to London...lol

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a wide variety of tastes, love a good girlie movie or book, but also read books about buddhism, the Celestine Prophecy type stuff and Paulo Coello. Just finished reading the Girl with Dragon Tatoo series.. loved them!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in a remote Malaysian village with no water, toilets, roads or electricity for 3 months!! Slept in a hammock.. we built a community building with the local people which they can use for church, clinic, school. meeting hall etc...

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share my cooking skills or teach someone what little i know about meditation or yoga. I have also worked with children and families for many many years, often in difficult and complex situations and would be happy to share my knowledge/ offer support if anyone thinks they could benefit. I am open to all sorts of things, bring it on!! Music, dancing??
