ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town in Kansas and didn't leave the country for the first time until I was 19 years old. Since then, when I'm not spending time overseas, I'm dreaming about my next opportunity. After graduating from the University of Kansas, I was out of the country within two weeks. I met my Swedish boyfriend while working in Zagreb, Croatia for a summer, and then spent my first summer out of college with him in Sweden. I am now living in the Netherlands and absolutely love it here.

I used to find meeting new people to be intimidating and difficult, but I have since learned that it is one of the great pleasures and privileges of travel. I've also been helped by strangers more times than I can count, and always welcome the opportunity to pay the favor forward.

Teach, Learn, Share

I had the pleasure of being able to learn a lot from a friend of mine who recently died. He loved to travel, and he loved people--meeting them and learning from and about them. He had a big heart and he taught me to be generous and to let myself accept generosity from others. If he was ever afraid to go on a new adventure, I never knew it. I hope I can learn from his joy and intense love of life.

Everywhere there are beautiful, loving people and you should never stop feeling lucky for finding them, and you should never stop looking.
