About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just spent 6.5 months working and traveling in South East Asia. Living just outside of Paris in Alfortville. I work as an English teacher in a primary school.

Looking to meet up with other travellers and locals!

Traveling and meeting new people, learning Spanish and perfecting my French

ABOUT ME

Hi everyone! My name is Katie and I spent the last several years living in NYC/France/Vietnam. I'm originally from a small town in Pennsylvania (one in which few ever seem to escape) but identify myself more as a New Yorker.
I adore NY and have an eclectic group of friends from around the world there. I love the melting pot of cultures that is NY and how nothing is ever really too bizarre. We are accustomed to the unusual and relish in it. Despite my deep affections for NYC, I also have a similar love for France. So...

I relocated to Paris where I taught English for a year, then headed to California to spend a few months working on a farm, and just finished teaching English in Vietnam. And back to Paris again!

I suppose a good way to describe myself is, I'm a wanderer. I used to work as an interior designer in Pittsburgh but found my life rather banal and easy. So at I quit my job and moved to NYC, knowing no one. Fortunately, I'm rather good at adapting to new situations and fell in love with the city, working a variety of different jobs.

I enjoy most things artistic, painting, drawing, museums, music. I'm laid-back and easy to get along with and enjoy others who are spontaneous and happy individuals. We all need positive influences in life! I backpack and travel quite frequently, essentially all my extra money goes to this and I'm not really much into material possessions. I like couch surfing as a way to meet people I would otherwise never meet if I just stayed in a hotel. Locals always know the most interesting spots and finding other solo travellers to trek with is fantastic. Couchsurfing is even a great outlet for doing language exchanges with others.
