I've hosted several great travelers so far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed only informally. My friend and I got caught in a snow storm on our bikes. A nice couple with a mansion in the Appalachian mountains rescued us from the grocery store and put us up for a few days. She made us grits and we ate them under a chandelier. While hitchhiking in Scotland, a music professor picked me up. He took me to his Rastafarian friend's house in London and they recorded good music late into the night while I slept on the couch. In Central America, my friend and I slept in the beds of truck drivers who drove us up the Pan American Highway. When our paths diverted, the truck drivers would call their truck driver friends who would pick us up and continue driving us north so we would have continued safe rides.

update: Since joining I've hosted several cool kids.
On a recent trip to Asia I stayed with a great girl in Bangkok.
