About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm originally from Colorado, USA but moved to Australia to study marine biology on the Great Barrier Reef. I met my husband (also a marine biologist) there and now we live in Townsville, Australia. We love Australia and have a great group of international friends to help us pass the time with social camping trips and outdoor BBQs.
I work as an environmental communicator and hope to make a difference in the world by helping to make it easier for people to make more environmentally sustainable choices.
I'm pretty easy-going but I can be a bit of a neat freak and my pet peeve is smoking - I really hate the smell :) Overall, I am friendly, generous, outgoing and chatty. I get along with almost everyone and hopefully will make you feel comfortable and valued as a guest or host.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am new to Couchsurfing but my husband and I both love meeting new people. We are currently on a two-year global honeymoon and are hoping to try out Couchsurfing along the way. I am looking forward to hosting people when I return to Australia. We live on a beautiful property about 20 minutes outside of town and I would love to share our uniquely Aussie landscape with other travelers. I also love good conversation and swapping travel tips with other adventurers.
Interests
Obviously I love travel and all kinds of outdoor fun like camping, kayaking, skiing, hiking, and diving or snorkeling on coral reefs. When I've had too much sun, I curl up with a good book, cook a great meal, drink wine with my friends, or just chill out.
I like chatting about politics and environmental issues, how to make the world a better place, and swapping foodie stories and tips. Actually, I like chatting about pretty much anything.
In my spare time I look after orphaned kangaroos.

Teach, Learn, Share
Recent research suggests that coral reefs around the world could cease to exist as we know them in as little as 50 years due to climate change!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to share my passion for nature, conservation, coral reefs and Australian wildlife with hosts and guests. I also have lots of travel tips and can cook a good vegetarian meal.
