Overview
About Me
I'm 33 years old, currently based out of Henderson, NV. I lived there for a year before I started traveling the poker tournament circuit. Once I started traveling, I put everything in storage and now I just live on the road! It's exciting and fulfilling for me to go to new places and experience the culture and the people of different areas. I'm always up for almost any adventure, whether it's hiking a nature trail, trying a local restaurant, bar hopping, doing volunteer work, going to an art show or Farmer's Market, checking out a showing of an old movie in the theater, going to a play or a comedy club or a concert, horseback riding...I'll try almost anything once, especially if it's something I've never done! I also love quiet times on the couch, reading a book, listening to music, or watching netflix. Living on the road has just increased my ability to be adaptable, and I have no problem hanging out by myself, one on one, or with a group of people, even if I don't know anyone. I'm mostly vegetarian, but I'm willing to try new foods wherever I go, especially if it's local cuisine and even if it's meat...can't say I'll try everything, but I'll at least think about it. I LOVE animals, every single one, so I would be stoked to stay somewhere with any kind of pet! No allergies. I do try my best to stay healthy and workout; I'm an occasional drinker, socially, but I don't need a party atmosphere - if that's what you have to offer, that's fine too. :) I like kids, and we get along just fine, but I haven't had the opportunity to spend a whole lot of time around them on a regular basis.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like I said, I travel almost all the time. I sometimes have a week or two in between jobs, and I can't afford hotels every night. I would like to take advantage of the time in between jobs to travel around, meet new people, and see new places, but it has to be on a budget because I'm trying to save money. It would be nice sometimes instead of sleeping in the car to be able to crash on a couch with awesome people who are open to it. I don't need any kind of luxury at all; most of the time just having the basics like a shower and a couch with a pillow feels like a five star hotel!
Interests
I love the outdoors, playing poker, reading, hanging out with friends, traveling (obviously), meeting new people, going to the movies, attending local events/festivities, eating at new restaurants, making art, photography, walking, riding bikes, learning, going to concerts...open to just about anything, especially if it's new. I feel like anything I haven't done is exciting and interesting the first time, and after that I get to decide whether or not it's something I want to repeat. How do you ever know if you don't try?? :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I like almost all music, just depends what mood I'm in for that day; very eclectic taste, from jazz to rock to soul/R&B to country to pop...I love live shows and festivals, whether it's a small jazz cafe or a big three day festival. Movies are similar, I enjoy most of them. I like a good action film, comedy, and dark comedies, as well as film noir, documentaries, 80's movies, and old school musicals. Horror is basically the only genre I don't watch..but it depends on the type. The Breakfast Club, The Princess Bride, and Star Wars are three that will always be favorites no matter what day it is. Kubrick, Lynch, Rob Reiner, George Lucas, Tarantino, Scorsese, Fellini, Burton, Jim Jarmusch... Books...I tend to read fast paced books to pass time but also enjoy the classics like Dickens, Twain, Shakespeare, and Poe. Mystery/suspense, psychological thrillers, comedic autobiographies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm. How to quantify amazing...I guess when I was younger, I traveled around Europe by myself for three weeks or so, with no plan and not much money. Hiked in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland with a girl from the hostel, near Gimmelwald, got lost on the way down, and plunged through cow fields, snow, and waterfalls to make it back to the hostel. It was an amazing personal experience; not astounding to most people perhaps, but a good adventure.
Teach, Learn, Share
Yes, yes, and yes. Lol.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a very open personality and what I've been told is a good perspective on life in general. I am always open to trying new recipes in the kitchen and they usually turn out all right, so I could cook for you! Probably mostly vegetarian dishes, I don't have too much experience cooking meat, although I did grill a good steak once...I can usually talk to almost anyone about anything, and once I find a connection with someone, we get along wonderfully. I can't offer much financially, but I can always donate a small sum for staying. I'd be willing to clean house, or help you with yard work or snow shoveling or painting, any household chores you need an extra hand with. I'd love to walk dogs, take care of any animals, babysit, or run errands.
