About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Adventures!

ABOUT ME

Friendly gal from Minnesota swept away by traveling and taking in all the cultures I possibly can. Easy going, and up for just about any adventure....Hiking, biking, camping, PLAYING sports, having a few drinks ...oh what the hell, I love it all!

I believe it's important to be resourceful in life, and when you put a creative spin on it, you can have a lovely ol' time with even the simplest of things!

In 2013 I went to NZ to be apart of a little thing called WWOOFING (look it up if you're confused), it was such an adventure, and the people I met and learned from were truly lovely and inspiring!
April of 2014 I went on a completely different adventure. I decided to thru hike the 2,650 (some) miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. It took me 5 months to complete it and it ruined my life in the process...because now all I want to do is plan for my next thru hike! So there goes any hopes to an actual career:)

2015 I escaped the Minnesota winter and went to Florida in search of some good hikes but mostly bicycled around Florida by myself; my favorite area being the Florida Keys.

2015 my friend Brennan and I kayaked the Mississippi River from source to sea, covering over 2,100 miles in 3 months.

2016 I thru hiked the Continental Divide Trail from the Mexican border to the Canadian border- going through New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana taking a total of 4 1/2 months to complete.

2017-2018 I traveled around Europe, hiking GR trails in France, Spain, and Portugal. Spent 10 days in Morocco to experience a whole new culture. Wherever the wind takes me!

2019 brought me to Costa Rica! I volunteered to work in a very remote spot in the jungle. Amazing.

2019-2020 currently I’m in Sweden learning how to dog sled, and eventually I will make my way to Greece and Ireland before I return home in February.

PHILOSOPHY

Read Atlas Shrugged and Natural Born Heroes . And after that, I mainly strive to make myself happy and by doing that I can make others happy.
I like to have morals and goals, but try to stay away from making rules for myself; things are constantly changing and no adventure goes as planned.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I've got the travel bug I have only surfed- but once I finally settle I will return the favor:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met some pretty wonderful folks!

Interests

The outdoors! I believe you can find creativity in ANYTHING. I feel complete when active and I love trying different foods, beer, and wine.

I can be quite competitive (but take losing just fine)- Tennis, rugby, racquet ball, volleyball, broomball, and badminton, are some sports I could never say no to playing.
Someday id like to learn how to surf and wind surf...soon hopefully.

Books: Shantaram, Natural Born Heroes, Born to Run (By Christopher McDougall), Atlas Shrugged, Island of the Lost...love any kind of survival/adventure book

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked from the Mexican border to the Canadian border twice.

Crocheted a dress out of plastic bag strips so I could play rugby in it.

Kayaked the Mississippi River source to sea.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn how to play the accordion, learn how to wind surf, salsa dance. Learn how to make Indian , Moroccan and Ethiopian food, learn how to shear sheep...the list goes on!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories, teach you how to crochet, I enjoy baking scones, I can be one of those people who will say YES to just about any activity just to experience something new. I can be a hiking, paddling, running partner!
