Algo increíble que he hecho

I was in Mexico during La Semana Santa this past year, and during the Palm Sunday service I was able to sit next to a fairly large family. The mother of the family welcomed me into their by stretching out her hand to take mine, squeezing it in that comforting mom-ish way. This was before I was comfortable with my Spanish (I had been in the country for about 12 hours) and I think she could tell I was nervous. Her husband then ripped his palm leaf in half and gave part to me. I've never been so welcomed by strangers before, and the atmosphere in that little church was so comfortable. After the service I got to have an incredibly intimate conversation with the couple, they told me all about their lives and how glad they were to have shared the service and their morning with me. It was a wonderful way to start my mission work in Tijuana and an experience I'll never forget.
