Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mainly participate in some organised events closer or further from home. So I can find some travel companions when hitchhiking. As far as don't live alone, it is difficult for me to host people, but I gladly guide people through my city of Riga.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first connection with couchsurfing happened when I didn't even knew about this site. I was hitchhiking in France and one evening an unknown guy offerred me and my friend his apartment for a stay out. It was very kind of him and I am still grateful for his help. Later on it appeared that he is not just an awesome guy but also a couchsurfing host.
Now I mainly attend gathering at the feasts.

Interests

I like to spend my spare time actively, so I ride a bike, skate, play volleyball, jog, climb the mountains. As far as I spend a lot of time indoors I have a special passion for nature, I like to camp in the woods, work in the garden, spend time at the seashore, dive underwater.

Music, Movies, and Books

Speaking of the books, I lack time to read them, however, like it. My favorite authors are Remark, Turenyev, Kuprin, J.Austen.
Of course I adore watching films. What I seek in films is the depth of the character, original plot and the beauty of the frame. Latest film to remember for long is As good as it gets with J.Nickolson.

As I wrote above, there was a man who offered to stay in his place to a total stranger, who just looked like in need of a decent home for a while.
He is not just a superb couch surfer hpst, but an honourable man who lives a hard life in country far from home to be close to his kids.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A person who is easy to get along with, I have lots of stories, some good joke to tell, I'm all ears for the stories of others
