About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Hello there :) My name is Katja and I've been traveling with my boyfriend Mic around Asia for 15 months and writing a blog about it: www.wejusttravel.com. It's been one crazy ride!
ABOUT ME
I'm easygoing and I love talking and hanging out with friends or new people. A short version of our journey: We drank all the tea in Sri Lanka, spent 3 crazy months in India, walked long white beaches on Andaman islands, trekked in Nepal, learned Thai massage in Thailand, visited tattooed jungle tribes on Sumatra, snorkeled on Bali, Komodo national park and remote Banda islands in Indonesia, fell in love with lanterns in Hoi An in Vietnam, visited 374 stupas in Myanmar (at least!), explored the amazing underwater world of Philippines and then chilled (and worked) in Chiang Mai for 2 months. We explored smoky Laos for one month and now we're swimming on Thailand's islands. And then? One last month of traveling in Japan before going home to Slovenia.
PHILOSOPHY
Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used to be a host but now that I'm traveling around Asia, I'll be looking for some friendly couches :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was a host and surfed a few times and it was always a very nice experience of meeting new people and cultures.
Interests
I love reading and drinking green tea. Or coffee, I still can't decide which I love more. I'm always trying to improve my travel blog and I'm still interested in pharmacy and medicine (my education field), cosmetics and make up. I'm a girl.
Love doing yoga and go for occasional run.
I appreciate good music and was a frequent music shows visitor when I wasn't traveling.
My love for fluffy animals in in ascent and I like artsy crafts.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all of the above but mostly I love reading. Murakami, Nesbo, Gaiman, Coelho. I will read just about everything and try to find the message that I will take from the book. You learn from anything.
Series: Game of Thrones, The Office
Movies: Lost in Translation, Into the wild
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived with Mentwai jungle tribes one week, doing absolutely nothing and eating durian all week (Sumatra, Indonesia)
Hiked in the Himalayas (Annapurna base camp in Nepal)
Seen a shark on remote Banda islands and baby turtles hatching on Kanawa (both Indonesia), swam with the huge whale sharks in Oslob (Philippines)
Experienced 2 weeks of yoga vacation with meditation in an ashram in Madurai, India and meditated with Buddhist monks in Thailand.
Teach, Learn, Share
Share: Well, at this point I feel really comfortable on giving advice on budget traveling in countries we've visited this year in Asia or my country, Slovenia, which is really cute.
Teach: I speak English fluently and I can help people if they're starting to learn. If you need some easy design lesson, blogging advice, you want to play the drums or want to talk medicine, we have it covered :D What a mix!
Learn: We want to learn Japanese language, culture, instruments or history :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you need some advice to find the perfect secret island where the prices are still low, with white empty beaches and clear blue sea with bustling underwater life, we will share everything we know :)
