ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Katy. I'm a 25 year old International Studies student at Humboldt State University in Northern California currently trying to travel the world on student loans. I have been living in China and studying Mandarin for the past few years. I'm a pretty laid back, easy going person. I have a sarcastic sense of humor, a big imagination, and I'm outgoing and like to meet new people. I love listening to music, hearing good stories, cooking, reading, dancing (badly), swimming in the ocean at night, climbing mountains, swinging from trees, gazing at the stars, and pretty much enjoy any sort of fantastic adventure or epic journey. And I like drinking good beer. I want to grow old with an abundance of stories that will entertain me into my age induced delirium and the knowledge that I have given back in equal measure for all of the good I have received..

I attend CS gatherings, host when I can, and try to be a gracious and grateful couch surfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch Surfing has been an amazing adventure for me. I have met some amazing friends, gotten to see interesting and exciting places that I never would have found on my own, and have come out of most of my CS experiences with amazing stories

Milking goats on an organic farm in Hawaii at 5 in the morning for three months, teaching after school photo classes to kids in East L.A., hiking through the California Redwoods, surfing in Costa Rica, volunteering at an orphanage for disabled babies in China, climbing the city wall with a sprained ankle in Xi'an, learning to ride a motorcycle in the Philippines, climbing a volcano in the Philippines, learning yoga in India, hiking in the Himalayas, surfing in Bali, traveling to North Korea

Photography and Photoshop (which are two very different things, one is my passion, the other I have done for work) and I am currently becoming a yoga instructor so yoga as well
