I'm from Germany, living in Berlin and working as an archaeologist while getting a master's in Egyptology. I travel the world in my free time. I moved around a lot as a kid, so I can't stay in one place for too long. My favourite part of the world is the Middle East! I'm a huge history nerd, I love scuba diving, horseback riding and the outdoors.

I like all sorts of music, my favourite is alternative rock. I love old Hollywood movies and adventure movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a research trip to the Sudan and spent 6 weeks living in a tent in the Sahara, walking through the desert all day mapping archaeological sites. It was so dirty and exhausting and hot, a sane person would have probably thought it was hell on earth, but I loved every second of it. There's nothing like the quiet solitude of the desert to escape from hectic modern life - or to remind you to be grateful for electricity and running water.

Another one would be my trip to northern Iraq in 2018, such an interesting country and friendly people. Seeing Mosul less than a year after the battle left a big impression on me. I can't wait to return and explore more of Iraq!

And my biggest adventure so far: Yemen! Driving from Oman all the way to Sana'a and the mountains of northern Yemen was absolutely incredible.
