ABOUT ME

Grew up in a small town in northern Germany before I got the first taste of what's going on outside my small world as an Au Pair in 1999 for 1 year in California. Have been traveling since and moved back to California after a few years. But with limited US vacation time it was time to quit and take some proper time to travel.

PHILOSOPHY

As I said in my mission statement. From living abroad and traveling around I have learned "To live life to the fullest, learn from every culture and make parts of it my own."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a good guest to have around. Very easy going. And appreciate every host that wants to share their culture with me. Can't wait to give back when I have a proper home address again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far only excellent! Everyone I've met has been extremely generous and welcoming. Once in India I stayed with a family that gave me their bed and they all slept on the floor that night. Nothing I could do about that anymore since they are to proud even though I felt bad, especially for the children.

兴趣

That will be a long list since life is too short to do everything you want. Anyway, I love languages and wish I could speak a few fluently. Started white Water rafting years ago and California and go every summer, several times. To relax and calm my busy spirit down I like to do yoga, read lots of books and most and for all meet interesting people.

I suck at this. I never know who sings what and who wrote which book. Somehow can not be without music or books though!! The first book I read on my around the world trip was "Honeymoon with my brother" by Franz Wisner and loved it. IF you haven't quit your job yet you'll do it after you've read the book!

I come from a rather reserved culture. For me to meet people and cultures that are warm and welcoming to anyone, even if just met, are some of the most extraordinary people and worth being mentioned!

The giving part! I have to remind myself every day that life isn't only about me. And with meeting so many great people that always give it's a great constant reminder what life is about and am getting better at it every day... I think. :)
