Overview
About Me
I am a 32 year old traveller and student. (Just updated my age, but much of this was written several years ago! Lots of it still hold true)
Note! I am travelling with my 15 month old dog, Bear! Who is super sweet and adaptable.
I'm finishing up my college degree, and continuing self-study in herbalism, yoga, and massage therapy/energy healing. Often my travels are motivated by a desire to learn more about the world and these passions I've listed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because its an amazing opportunity to meet local folk, and see a place from their perspective. Being welcomed into someones home is a special thing. I'm so grateful for the chance to stay

Music, Movies, and Books
I love singer song writer music, I grew up listening to the folk music of my parents. I play medicine music, and write some very mediocre songs of my own. I love the talking heads, enjoy Paul Simon, love alt j. Edward sharpe and the magnetic zeroes. Angel Olsen. The German band annenmaykantereit. The song Furr by blitzen trapper. Like to have a Beatles morning now and then. Lately jamming to fat Freddy's drop. Medicine music, by a campfire to appreciate nature., the elements.
I haven't watched it since I was twelve, but when I saw the Shawshank Redemption, I was clearly awed, and convinced it was the best movie ever made.
I was a Harry Potter nerd, I remember being riveted by the Kite Runner, and when I was younger, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Since being a college student I've turned towards non-fiction: dense philosophy texts, and feminist literature, reading about eastern spirituality, shaminism, women's spiritual traditions, the chakras, mind-body healing. These are the books that fill my shelves.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I shaved my head to challenge my perception of beauty.... Now I miss my hair, but it has still been a good learning experience! (This description is from many years ago :))
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could give a reiki session or a yoga lesson. I could cook a meal or bake something special. I can help with a project or give advice on a garden. We can connect and share stories!
