ABOUT ME

My name is Katy and I'm from Seattle. I LOVE dogs, I love food and I love to travel. I'm excited to begin my adventures around the world in Australia. I love to run and hope to participate in races all over the world on my travels. I love to go out, but nights in can often be the most fun. My favorite part about traveling is staying with someone who is local, who can show me places that are "off the beaten track", which is why I joined couch surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My best friend couch surfed all through Europe, we hosted our own surfers at our house and I always enjoyed meeting new people and I can't wait to have my own couch surfing memories!

Interests

Food! Love eating new things, exploring new places. I love architecture so I'm usually drawn to larger cities but also am a beach bum at heart and could spend days laying out in the sun. I enjoy hikes, seeing live music and museums.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I studied literature and loved 1920's British literature. I love to re-read the classics like Hemingway and Mark Twain. I'm also a sucker for books like the Hunger Games and Harry Potter for a little bit lighter of a read.

Music: My current love is the blues/rock genre (think the Black Keys) but I also have a soft spot in my heart for classic rock, pop-punk and hip hop. I love to talk about music and see live bands!

Movies: I love a good comedy but also enjoy old movies like "It's a Wonderful Life", "Casablanca" and "Some Like it Hot".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've studied in Italy for 2 1/2 months, saw the Cathedral in Cologne, Germany; laid on the beach in Santorini, Greece. In Australia I took a road trip through the rainforest from Cairns and saw whales off of the beach on the Gold Coast. My adventures have just started so I'll much more to add to this later :).
