ABOUT ME

This may I graduated from a liberal arts school with a degree in politics. Until now, I have always focused on finishing my education and now that I have, I am excited to see what is in store for me next. I hope to find a fulfilling job, learn new hobbies and meet diverse people all over the country. But before I can settle down for a 40 hour work week, I need a little adventure. I am a person who finds most fulfillment from the people I meet and can share experiences with. I often meet people through activities such as hiking and other outdoor pursuits, eating and seeing live music. I am very excited for my new life and opportunities to spend my time learning outside of the classroom.

PHILOSOPHY

We must respect and trust one another, because without each other we do not have much.

I gain knowledge, energy, passion, and love form the people in my life. I cannot learn or love on my own and i am lucky to have met so many who have helped me along the way. I always work very hard to respect those around me because they are crucial to my well-being, whether they are a friend, a professor or just a kind stranger. Because I derive fulfillment from shared experiences, I always strive to give everyone I meet the opportunity to express themselves free of persecution or judgment.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to surf as well as host! I would love to show fellow surfers around my neighborhood and share experiences with them, as well surf in order to meet new people and new places. I am new to couchsurfing as I have seldom had the opportunity to travel or host. I am excited to finally have to time to surf and host! I can wait to meet all of you!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have limited experience with couchsurfing-- school has always gotten in the way. I created this account in the hopes of couchsurfing my way across Europe while studying in Ireland, but my time there was too short. I do hope to go back someday and I will most definitely use couchsurfing because of the wonderful and giving community. But I do have friends who have hosted and it was really wonderful to have met all of these adventurous and caring individuals.

Intereses

First, I am interested on others. I prefer any activity if I can share it with someone else. These include hiking, camping, eating, traveling, reading (while sitting next to someone), exploring, seeing live music, swimming. I like most things when I have company.

But as far as my hobbies go I love to read- novels, non-fiction, short stories, the news. I feel as though reading everyday makes me a more caring and responsible human. Additionally, I love to play soccer. I haven't had the opportunity to play on a team in quite some time but I always love to play a quick pick-up game.

And finally, I am trying to begin learning some crafts with my new found time. I am learning how to knit and soon I want to learn ti weave in a loom. I have always wanted to play an instrument and so I think I will begin taking trumpet lessons as soon as I settle down!

I love all music. I just really love to listen to music and I am open to anything I have not listened to yet.

I love literature, old and contemporary and I almost always have a book I can trade forma new one. That way I can explore books I would not have previously picked out form myself. It a great way we can all learn form each other. But specifically, I love Kurt Vennegut, Haruki Murakami and Gabriel Garcia Marquez

In Nicaragua, on a dark night I climbed to the top of a volcano, looked down to see magma that had been stewing in the volcano for centuries. It was an emotional and breathtaking sight that I will never forget.

I love New Mexico, and i can teach everyone that it is a destination worth going. I feel the same way about Oregon. I always have books to share and i am beginning to learn how to knit.
